Ballroom & Latin Classes
If you’re a beginner we don’t recommend you go to the expense of buying dance shoes.
For the men, you can wear nearly any shoe you want, except for trainers or shoes with rubber soles because they stick to most floors and prevent you from moving easily. Hard leather or suede bottom shoes are the best.
For ladies we recommend that you wear shoes that are comfortable however, avoid any backless shoes as your foot will slide out. You also don’t want a shoe that grips the floor, like trainers because the rubber tends to stick to the floor and prevent movement, which can cause injury.
Wear a shoe that has a comfortable heel for you – not too high and not too stiletto. And if you prefer dancing in flats, that’s absolutely fine.
Ballroom Blast! Fitness Classes
All you need are comfortable workout clothes, trainers (preferably not brand new), a towel and water.
We recommend that you wear an old pair of trainers that have less grip in their treads, rather than new ones that may stick to the floor and prevent you from moving easily.
Resistance bands are provided in class.
Simply Stretch Classes
Wear comfortable clothing. These classes are conducted wearing sports or anti-slip yoga socks.
If possible, please bring a yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks & belt with you if you have them. However we can supply these if required.
Spin Spot
You can buy a ‘spin spot’ that will turn your shoes into dance shoes. The only downside is that once you’ve put them onto your shoes, those shoes can only be worn on a dance floor. But it’s a quick and cheap way of making a pair of shoes easy to dance in. See the link below to purchase these.
