Well now there is range of classes that will help to get you fit and learn some ballroom dance moves- all without a partner!
Welcome to Ballroom Blast! Fitness
Ballroom Blast! Fitness are light-hearted “Strictly Come Dancing” themed fitness classes suitable for all ages and abilities.
Ballroom Blast! Fitness takes you through a mix of ballroom & latin dances – enjoy dance styles from Jive to Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz to Charleston plus contemporary genres like jazz, Bhangra and disco.In our classes you repeat 3-4 dance steps in a sequence a few times, starting slowly but then getting a bit faster with your feet and adding ‘armography’ as the routine progresses to give it some flair. It’s easy to pick up – and & did we mention, lots of fun!
Each dance has different fitness aims – some that give you a cardio workout, others that have more shaping and stretching to build strength, and then slower dances to help tone.
As Terri explains: “To me it brings together fitness training and dance movement in a unique way. Plus I personally hate going to the gym because I find working out in that type of environment boring and as a result I am less likely to be motivated to go. I know many others who feel the same way.”

Ballroom Blast! Fitness LOW (For All Abilities)
BB Fit LOW is an upbeat dance class for people who love to dance and want to keep fit, but need a lighter intensity, lower impact and perhaps simpler movements.
This class is suitable for beginners, people with joint issues and those returning to exercise. All moves can be taken at your own pace, routines are easy to follow & fun!
So people of all ages and abilities can come and enjoy the benefit of dance and exercise combined. You can do as little or as much as you feel comfortable with. And the dance moves can be modified and tailored for all abilities.
Within the Monday BB Fit LO class Terri also incorporates 20 mins of Dance Focus, giving you the opportunity to focus on one step or one dance with tips on how to increase the workout or modify the steps to suit your level of fitness.
Ballroom Blast! Fitness & Tone
This fusion of dance fitness with resistance training will get your heart pumping, your muscles toned and your face smiling!
The Tone routines engage your leg & glute muscles whilst resistance bands are used to strengthen and tone the upper body. There is less stress to the joints than experienced with other types of resistance training plus you don’t need a partner to dance with!
Designed for peri-menopausal & menopausal women who want to keep fit, combat those pesky ‘meno’ symptoms and feel amazing! But the class is still high energy enough for anyone who wants a lively fun dance-based workout.
Please note: Resistance bands can be provided for you. However, if, after your first class, you would like to purchase your own band this can be arranged. Bands cost £2.50.
